lasts a few years. Keep spares. Dry storage/no use over winter binds up the motor (with rust) when stored out of water... sometimes need to manually turn pump fan in spring/re-install. If jammed, will pull excess current and burn out motor or better yet, the 3A fuse you hopefully did not go over sized ;)
